Licence Server Changes - SC DS59

The cleanup of licence services is an often neglected process as people rarely tell us when they decide not to renew licences or cease to use perpetual licences for a particular version of software. Before deleting a disused licence from the server, it is best to allow a month or two since expiry, or if unexpired a time when the service is stopped and will not auto-start on reboot.

  • Select the Start/Stop/Reread tab

  • Select the Config Services tab
  • Checking that the same licence is selected, note the path to the licence file
  • Click the Remove Service button.
  • Remove vendor daemon and address authorisation rules for that service from firewall rules. See SC DS90.

  • at a command prompt execute lmutil lmstat -a:licence.lic
