CIFS
We do not provide a supported CIFS file service. CIFS is
available to two specific groups only:
- Publications and Web (NOT Marketing &
Comms)
- Computing Services (other protocols are also
available)
CIFS uses a different password encryption type to Netware.
To set an NTLM password:
- Log in to a managed desktop
- Open a command prompt [Start | All Programs |
Accessories | Command Prompt]
- Type cifspass
- Use the same password that you logged in with unless
you are going to remember a different one.
- Exit
- Log off
